Llyn Brenig Run
Mick Leach has sent in a short report on the
run:
At 0700 September 6th 2020 seventeen riders including nine Burton
section members set off from Tutbury car park riding motorcycles
dating from 1954 up to present day on an informal day out to Llyn
Brenig in North Wales. Two extra riders joined in Bramshall and a
third in Stone making a total of twenty.
The run went via B roads through Uttoxeter to Stone and then out
towards Market Drayton before reaching the Midway truck stop at
Prees Heath for breakfast. At this point three returned home.
The run then continued via the Whitchurch ring road to Ruabon and
Llangollen where the A5 was joined for North Wales as far as
Cerrigydrudion where the run went North on a very nice motorcycling
road as far as the reservoir. Beautiful views but the weather soon
turned showery however the enjoyment continued down some remote country
lanes and the Nant y Garth pass to the Ponderosa cafe where more
conversation and banter ensued before returning home via the
horseshoe pass and the time honoured route through Audlem and Woore.
