Tax Dodger's Run 2023

Dave Gould has sent this report on the Tax Dodgers Run.

Twelve Solo's and one Sidecar outfit left Marston's at 10 0'clock in drizzling rain. We rode towards Anslow, Tutbury and on towards the Saltbox and then into Sutton Lane towards Longford, Alkmonton, and Cubley. We turned right on A515 then left into Windmill Lane for Snelston and Clifton and then picked up the A52 as far as Swinscoe, right past the grazing sheep and into Mappleton and then as far as the Old Dog pub at Thorpe.  We turned right crossing the A515 into Tissington village centre for a well earned coffee stop. During our break the sun decided to come out.  We retraced our route as far as Thorpe passing the Cloud Stepping Stones and onto Ilam, turning left over the Dove and up over the moor to Blore.

We went right to the A52 where turning left we were able to get a bit of steam up back towards Ashbourne before turning right onto B5032 into Mayfield.  We went on through Ellastone into Rocester, bearing right for Marston Montgomery until our return to the A515 at Sudbury.

Due to the dreaded road works we had to divert through Hatton before returning to Marston's where a nice pint of foaming Pivo finished the day.
Thanks to everyone of you that turned up.  Dave.
